Our bridal service is built around three ideas: the gown should be yours, the fit should be perfect, and the experience should be calm. We build one gown at a time from first consultation to the final steam before your wedding day. That means no conflicting fitting schedules, no rushed handoffs, and Sumu's full attention on your gown from start to finish.
We work with all silhouettes, all necklines, and all fabric preferences. Modest bridal construction, modern minimalist gowns, traditional and heirloom-style gowns are all part of our regular work. The first consultation is free.

Free Consultation
In studio or video. We talk about the wedding, the feeling, and the design direction. Bring images, fabric, or a Pinterest board.

Design & Muslin
We draft a paper pattern from your measurements and build a muslin test garment for a first fitting. Shape and balance confirmed before the real fabric.
- Step 3
Fabric & Construction
Fabric sourcing together. Construction in the studio with ongoing fit checks. First full-fabric fitting at the halfway point.
- Step 4
Final Fitting & Steam
Final fitting one to two weeks before the wedding. Full steam, bustle, and presentation before you leave on the day.

Fabric, lace, and beading are priced separately. A detailed quote is provided after the first consultation. Payment is split across consultation, fabric, first fitting, and final delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a custom wedding gown in Helsinki?
Six months is recommended. Four months is the minimum for simpler designs. The earlier you book, the more time we have for fabric sourcing and muslin refinement, which makes for a better result.
Can I copy a designer wedding dress I have seen?
We will not produce an exact replica of a copyrighted design, but we can design a gown inspired by a specific look. We often work from inspiration images that capture the silhouette, neckline, or detail the bride loves.
Do you work with all body types and sizes?
Yes. Custom work by definition is drafted for the body wearing the gown. Silhouette, bust support, corsetry, and construction are all designed for the individual.
Can you include fabric from a family heirloom in my gown?
Yes. Incorporating heirloom fabric is some of our most meaningful work. Tell us what you have at the consultation and we will design around it.
How many fittings are included?
Most custom gowns include a muslin fitting, a first full-fabric fitting, a second fitting, and a final fitting. Complex beaded or lace-heavy gowns may add one more.
