Waist and Seat Adjustments
Take in or let out trousers, skirts, and dresses at the waist. We also rebalance the seat-to-waist relationship on pants that fit the thigh but gap at the back.
Sleeve Shortening and Cuffs
Jacket, shirt, and coat sleeves. On tailored jackets we preserve working cuff buttons and shorten from the shoulder when that is the right approach. On shirts we maintain the original cuff shape.

We Pin, Mark, and Confirm
Stand, sit, walk, raise your arms. The garment needs to work in motion, not just standing still. We pin every adjustment and confirm together before you leave.

Sewn in Studio
No work is sent out. Every alteration is done at our Liisankatu address by Sumu, using hand finishing where it matters and professional machines where it belongs.
- Step 4
Final Fitting
You try it on once more to confirm. If anything is off, we adjust it. Simple work is often a single visit. Complex pieces take two or three.

We quote formal wear and complex tailoring in person because construction matters. A well-made Italian blazer and a fast-fashion blazer take very different amounts of work to alter, and we prefer to give you an honest number after seeing the piece.

Rush service is available for simple alterations when our schedule allows. We do not rush wedding gowns, because rushed bridal work shows. If your date is close, call us anyway and we will tell you honestly what is possible.

Can you alter a dress that is too small?
Sometimes. We can let out seams up to the seam allowance, which is usually one to two centimeters per seam. For bigger size increases we can add gussets or side panels in matching fabric when the design allows. Bring the dress in and we will look at what can be done.
Do I need an appointment for a fitting?
Yes. Alterations require a try-on and we schedule fittings so each client gets focused attention. Book online or call the studio during opening hours to schedule.

Do you hem jeans and keep the original cuff?
Yes. Original-cuff jean hemming is one of our most common repairs. We remove the original hem, shorten the leg from above, and reattach the finished cuff so the jean looks factory-hemmed rather than homemade.
Can you alter formalwear, suits, and tuxedos?
Yes, we alter trousers, shirts, waistcoats, jackets, and full formalwear. Simple work like trouser hemming and waist adjustments is quick. Full jacket tailoring across shoulder, sleeve, and body is complex and priced after fitting.
